Feel the ease of mind…
of working with an environmentally friendly wholesaler
Ethical Mining
While most crystal mining in Peru is located in the coastal desert mountains, illegal gold mining does destroy huge areas of the Peruvian rainforest.
– We are only buying legal gold and silver for our jewelry production, avoiding any impact on rainforest habitats.
– Our stone providers must be legal providers too. We do not make cash payments and require an official billing process, thus avoiding involvement in illegal mining.
– We are not trading with or using Peruvian Amazonite, which is mined in an area dominated by drug lords.
Reusing and recycling
There are many things we are doing to reduce the use of natural resources:
– Of course, we separate our company waste into plastic, metal, paper, and remaining waste, to recycle as much as possible.
Reusing is better than recycling because there is zero additional environmental impact.
– As a B2B wholesale business, the beauty of packaging is not of the essence. Therefore we are shipping in “ugly boxes”, meaning we are buying already used boxes from other companies and reusing them for a second shipping.
– Whenever possible we reuse newspapers as packaging material.
How YOU can help:
– Bubble wrap is a necessary packaging material. However, you can help by reusing our bubble wrap or bringing it to the nearest recycling station.
Reducing the use of water in lapidary production
In lapidary production all cutting, shaping, and polishing tools are water-cooled. Additionally, the cleaning of the machines and the entire facility from stone dust, as well as cleaning the stones themselves, consumes a huge amount of water.
70% of the Peruvian population inhabits the coastal desert. The capital Lima already suffers frequent water cuts. By 2040 Peru is predicted to be a country with very high water stress. Therefore, saving water is of great importance
By implementing a simple but effective water recycling system for our lapidary machines we were able to reduce our water consumption by 75 %.
